Steve Boyte is pursuing a Master of Science degree in Geography at South Dakota State University with an emphasis in geospatial technologies. He held a teaching assistantship with the Department of Geography, and he worked on fire modeling projects with Dr. Michael Wimberly in SDSU's GISc Center of Excellence. His research focused on the application of landscape simulation models to study the historical range of variability of forest landscapes in the western United States, specifically in the Black Hills of South Dakota.
Steve holds a B.A. in Geography from California State University, Chico and was a 2006 recipient of the NASA South Dakota Space Grant Consortium Student Fellowship/Scholarship Program.
