Anil has 14 years of Computing and Information Technology (IT) experience including all aspects of hardware and software.  He has experience with various system architectures and their performance characteristics.  He has experience working on various operating systems, databases, web development, software application development, IT security, system automation, IT management, IT administration, parallel computing, optimization of custom code and improvement of latency of various software and hardware stack implementations.  He provided solutions based on both open source and commercial off the shelf products and mixed these to provide faster project implementation and better return on investment for many projects.  Anil has broad range of technical experience and has always been early adapter of new technologies with minimum disruption, and provided indisputable advantage to the organization, thereby maximizing the investment in IT infrastructure while evaluating risk vs. reward of such implementations. For the past 9 years he has demonstrated strong expertise in storage technologies and provided a growth path from a mere 12TB of online storage to 2PB today and set stage of additional 4PB of offline storage.  He has worked with colleagues to identify the right hardware and software requirements for successful proposal submission and completion of projects.  Anil has worked with administration and implemented IT solutions to meet long-term organizational goals.  He worked with various vendors and negotiated cost savings on various IT purchases successfully.  He managed both temporary and full time employees in support of the organization’s IT needs.  Over the past 14 years he has demonstrated successfully employed computing skills on advancing interdisciplinary scientific research.  He has a Ph.D. in Atmosphere, Environment and Water Resources from South Dakota State University, and has contributed to various scientific journals and presented work at various scientific conferences.
