Eugene Apindi Ochieng holds a BSc. degree in Geology from the University of Nairobi. Interests include application of GIS and Remote Sensing in environmental monitoring and management. Eugene worked with Dr. Matthew C. Hansen in developing a land cover map of Africa using 250m resolution MODIS data. Before joining SDSU, Eugene worked as an environmental geologist in Nairobi, Kenya, and later on as a visiting scientist at the UNEP-GRID offices located at the USGS-EROS.
