Velpuri, Naga Manohar

Ph.D. Geospatial Science & Engineering
Advisor:

Dr. Velpuri graduated with his PhD in May 2012 under the supervision of Dr. Senay.  His PhD research was focused on developing methods to monitor lakes and reservoirs using multi-resolution remotely sensed data.

Dr. Velpuri is currently working as Post Doctoral Scientist with ASRC Research and Technology Solutions, Contractor to USGS EROS Center, Sioux Falls, SD. He previously worked on Global Irrigated Area Mapping project (www.iwmigiam.org) where he mapped irrigated areas using high resolution satellite data and other sensors and studied the resolution/scale effects of mapping irrigated areas.  He was also a key contributor of the Knowledge Base System for Lanka project at International Water Management Institute. Manohar has earned two masters degrees in remote sensing and GIS from University of Cambridge and JNT University in India. He has 7 years of research experience in the field of Remote Sensing and GIS.
