GIScCE Center Scholar awarded Honors College Academic and Scholarly Excellence Mentorship

Cole Krehbiel has been selected to receive one of six Honors College Academic and Scholarly Excellence Mentorship awards for his project entitled “Applications of middle infrared (3-5µm) image time series for urban remote sensing”.  

Cole receives $2500 in support for this summer research project under the guidance of his faculty mentor Dr. Geoff Henebry.  

Cole is a Geography major who had earlier successfully applied to the GIScCE’s Center Scholars Program, which facilitates research experience for undergraduates by enabling them to work with a GIScCE Senior Scientist on a project of mutual interest. 

Cole’s mentorship will be awarded at the SDSU Undergraduate Research, Scholarship and Creative Activities Day (URSCAD) 2012, during a program starting at 3:30 p.m., April 23, in the Student Union Volstorff Ballroom.
