Erik Lindquist awarded NASA Fellowship

Erik Lindquist (advisor Dr. Matt Hansen) has been awarded a NASA Earth and Space Science Ph.D. Fellowship (NESSF) starting 2007/2008 for a proposal titled, "Using MODIS and Landsat data to advance regional, high-spatial resolution change monitoring for the humid tropical forests of the Congo Basin".

Erik is included in 58 NASA selected graduate students nationwide. The purpose of the NASA fellowship is to ensure continued training of interdisciplinary scientists to support the study of the Earth as a system. The applications were evaluated through a two-step process: first through mail review, and then by a panel composed of members of academic institutions and research organizations as well as program managers in Earth Science at NASA Headquarters.
