| GIScCE News & Events Dr. Geoff Henebry active in the USA National Phenology Network Posted: Friday, October 16th, 2009 Geoff Henebry co-organized the NSF Research Coordination Network on Phenology meeting in Milwaukee October 5-8. The meeting’s theme was “Toward a National Phenological Assessment” and gather researchers from diverse fields to outlining how to prepare for a National Phenological Assessment. Henebry also serves on the USA-NPN (usanpn.org) Board of Directors. Henebry convened, together with RCN PIs Mark D. Schwartz (UW-Milwaukee) and Julio Betancourt (USGS-Tucson) as well as Kirsten de Beurs (Virginia Tech) and John Gross (National Park Service), a special session at the Fall Meeting of the American Geophysical Union entitled “Toward Phenological Assessments: Regional, National, Global”. This is the sixth year that Henebry has organized a phenology session at the Fall Meeting. |
