China wetlands mapping by remote sensing

Dr. Niu is a Professor at the Institute of Remote Sensing and Digital Earth, Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing, where he has worked since 2001. His six-month sabbatical leave here at SDSU is funded by a grant from the China Scholarship Council. Dr. Niu received his Ph.D. in soil science from the Chinese Agricultural University in 2001. His research focuses mainly on wetland mapping and evaluation by remote sensing and GIS.
