Kyle Pittman joined the GIScCE as a Geospatial Analyst in May 2005. Kyle
works primarily for Dr. Matthew Hansen, developing MODIS-derived global
continuous fields forest and crop maps, as well as global forest change
products.
Kyle's previous work focused on Landsat-based land cover, impervious
surface, and urban growth mapping of the Mid-Atlantic United States for
the Mid-Atlantic Regional Earth Science Applications Center (RESAC),
part of the University of Maryland - College Park Department of
Geography. While at UMD, Kyle also worked on wetland change detection
projects for Maryland's Patuxent River watershed and Blackwater National
Wildlife Refuge on the Chesapeake Bay.
He has an M.A. and B.S. in Geography from the University of Maryland, as
well as a B.B.A in Information & Operations Management from Texas A&M
University.
